God's Work

It has been a good week!  Guayaquil is still amazing me, just because it is so much different than Babahoyo!  But I am sure I will get completely adjusted soon.  Both Babahoyo and Guayaquil are great places to be! :) So a little more about my companions, Elder Call is from Springville Utah, and he is teaching me all I have to know about being the secretary and then he will go out to another sector, Elder Butler is from Arizona, and he will probably be leaving the office soon too, but he will be my companion as well until he can train a new financer and all.  Both of them have less than 6 months in the mission left, along with all the other office members and assistants and all, which actually makes it pretty interesting for me, mostly working with missionaries who have quite a bit more time than me, but it is a lot of fun, and I learn a lot from them!
So normally we are in the office from after morning studies until 5-6 in the evening, so we don´t have a whole lot of time to work, but God´s hand is definitely in this work, because even though we don´t have a lot of time to proselyte, we are still having lots of success!  Investigators and less actives in church every week, and I am seeing that when we do our best with what we have, God will help in the rest!  Also, it seems like in this sector and in my companionship, we have had a lot of success recently, compared to what I heard about things before, and it looks like we could have several baptisms and rescued less actives in the month of March!! It is truly amazing that even though we don´t get a lot of time to work, we are still having success!!  Just a reminder that this is God´s work!  If it were the missionaries work, then we would not be having the success we are having with the time we have available!  God is leading us to those in this sector who are ready to hear His work, and follow Christ!! I am so grateful that God is giving me a part in His work, and that I am able to participate in the marvelous blessings and exquisite joy that come from serving God in His work!
The blessings from missionary work are real, and they are there for all of us!  I invite you all to take part in his work, and do something special this week to share you testimony of Christ and share His gospel with a friend, neighbor, or even someone you don´t know this week!! The rewards are unimaginable!!
I hope you all have an amazing week!

It has been a good week!  I am still learning a lot about what I have to do for my new job, but being in the office gives you a cool perspective of how the mission works, and it is a great opportunity to serve in more ways!  I have enjoyed it so far :)  Also, Guayaquil is definitely a lot different from Babahoyo.  It is a richer area and the people act a little different, the houses are different, the streets are different, and it is just a completely different feeling overall.  It almost feels like I am in a different mission :) But it is definitely a cool experience.  I am really excited to continue to learn my new job, my new sector, and I am enjoying every moment of my mission :)

Also, I have been studying a little about diligence this week, and just a simple thing that I have noticed, in Preach My Gospel, it says that an obedient missionary is energetic about the work, and finds joy in the work.  I realized that part of being diligent, is doing good, but with a good attitude, and looking forward to doing it, and finding joy in your work!  Just a simple thought to think about this week :) I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Mission Secretary

Sorry for not writing last week!  I got a call from the zone leaders last saturday saying that I would be the new secretary of the mission!  So on P-day I traveled to Guayaquil and got to the office to start working as the secretary.  So now my P-days will be on saturday.  But I am really excited for this responsibility to serve as secretary of the mission, and I am excited to learn and have many experiences here!
So right now I am in a trio, with Elder Call (the old secretary who is training me right now) and Elder Butler (the mission financer).  My first two comanions here in the field who aren´t latinos :) Also, in my zone here in Guayaquil, my trainer in the new zone leader!  So I will get to work a little bit more with him again as well!
I am excited for the new change, and I will be adjusting and learning a lot these next few weeks!  I am still a little bit surprised that I have this assignment, but it will be a great experience!  I hope you all have an amazing week!

The Importance of Repentance

Recently in the mission field, the leaders have been stressing the important of teaching repentance correctly and sufficiently.  I just want to let you all know how important it is!  As we have been learning more about it, I have been realizing more and more how important it is that we change! We should always be changing!  Christ always teaches us to change in order to be more like Him.  As we have stressed this more with our investigators, I have been realizing the importance of this in my own life.  Don`t forget about repentance!  Always be looking and searching for how you can be more like Christ!  It might be hard, but for me, it has been becoming easier and easier, because I have been happier and happier as I have been changing Little by Little to become more like Christ.  Christ offers us true happiness!  We just need to come to Him searching, striving to be more like Him!
Also, it still hasn`t rained super hard like everyone says it should, so we will see if that comes this week or not :)  Normally by now it would be raining super hard, but I haven`t seen a big storm yet!  Have a great week!
